Abstracts

Original abstract paintings, made by hand in my studio in Reading, UK. Each one is a one-off — acrylic on thick card, built up in layers of overlapping line until the surface starts to move. Nothing here is reproduced or editioned, so when a piece sells, that was the only one.

The work comes out of years of drawing: a simple mark repeated over and over until it accumulates into something that looks planned but wasn’t. From across a room the surface holds together as a single continuous field. Up close it separates back into individual lines, each with its own wobble and hesitation. They reward a second look, which makes them good paintings to live with rather than just look at.

Most are medium-sized wall pieces at around £300, signed and supplied unframed so you can choose a frame that suits the room.
